The Rocket League team delivered a flawless performance throughout the regular season, finishing with an impressive 6-0 record under the guidance of Coach Thomas Hohnholt, according to Valparaiso University. This new system requires visitors under 18 years old or not enrolled in high school to be accompanied by a parent or guardian, establishing clear supervision guidelines for younger participants.

The registration process accommodates various forms of identification, including valid state identification cards, driver's licenses, or high school identification cards from any grade level. PACE Chief Administrator Adam Graper explained that these modifications aim to enhance safety protocols, improve operational efficiency, and create a better overall environment during public skating sessions.

"We want to ensure everyone who is skating at our facility is enjoying their time on the ice," Graper stated. "This change will allow us to act swiftly if an injury occurs or an emergency situation arises."

The streamlined system includes digital photography, basic contact information collection, and electronic waiver signing — modernizing processes that have been in place since the rink's 2018 opening. Additionally, skaters who bring their own equipment can purchase admission without waiting in rental lines during peak hours, reducing congestion and wait times.

Despite these operational enhancements, admission and rental prices remain unchanged at five dollars each, and the facility continues accepting various payment methods including debit cards, credit cards, gift cards, Google Pay, and Apple Pay. The rink will open for the 2025-2026 season on Friday, November 28, with extended hours from noon to 9 p.m. on opening day, similar hours on Saturday, and noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday.

The decision continues the department's tradition of producing family-friendly shows while offering substantial performance opportunities for developing actors.

The production features innovative double-casting for key roles, including Dorothy, performed by both Gabby Gunther and Triniti Colbert. This approach allows more students to participate in significant roles while maintaining production quality. Flewelling explained that double-casting occurs when multiple actors demonstrate equal strength and suitability for specific characters.

Freshman Bryce Fech, who portrays the Scarecrow, highlighted the production's emphasis on friendship and acceptance. "My favorite moment in the show is when Dorothy meets the Scarecrow," Fech noted. "You can see their friendship form quickly. To me, it shows that you can find a friend no matter where you are, and that you can be accepted no matter where you go."

For senior Gunther, landing the role of Dorothy represents the culmination of years of theatrical involvement and personal connection to the source material. "This was the best case scenario for me, getting to be Dorothy," Gunther shared. "I've watched the movie over and over since I was four years old. I'm very happy that I got this role, especially since it's my senior year."

The department has significantly expanded its sensory-friendly programming, building on successful initiatives from the previous year. The November 15 sensory-friendly performance incorporates adjusted sound levels, modified lighting, extended intermissions, and flexible seating arrangements to accommodate audience members with sensory sensitivities. This year's registration numbers show remarkable growth, with 350 to 400 participants expected compared to approximately 50 during the inaugural sensory-friendly performance last year.

"Last year, we had some autistic students who would stand up, sit down, and walk around the auditorium," Flewelling explained. "It's a great opportunity for them to come and still experience the theater without feeling like they're interrupting anyone's viewing of the show."

The production schedule includes multiple matinee and evening performances, with tickets priced at 14 dollars for adults and 10 dollars for students and senior citizens. Performance times include matinee shows at 1 p.m. on November 16, 22, and 23, plus evening performances at 7 p.m. on November 14, 15, 21, and 22.
